Working student Biostatistics (f/m/d)

Team Thunder (bioinformatics/biostatistics) is a self-organised agile team within Leukocare that conducts innovative research on biopharmaceutical formulation development. Stress on ‘agile’: we follow the Scrum methodology, which allows us to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a research student in our team, you will help out with data wrangling, processing, and visualizing. While working independently or doing pair-programming, you will have an amazing opportunity to advance your R programming skills as well as to learn about code-review and version control.

• data wrangling and visualization (tidyverse and ggplot2 are your best friends)
• using existing (R) scripts, adapting them for different situations and occasionally developing new ones
• following procedures for writing maintainable code, based on pair-programming and code reviews
• communicating with your team and lab members to verify data integrity
• working independently to come up with new solutions to existing problems

• enrolled in a Bachelor or Master at a German university (Universität or Hochschule)
• some programming skills and experience with R (or Python as an alternative)
• excellent communication skills in English
• enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment involving rapid change and continuous learning
• ability to work independently, and a knack for finding solutions to diverse coding issues
• experience with code-review and platforms like Github, Bitbucket, Jira or TFS are a plus
• experience working in a wet lab, knowledge of molecular biology, or analytical chemistry is a plus
• experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a related medical field is a plus
